I'm in the second panel from the left in the top row!
I started my political campaign work in 2024, when I began phone banking and volunteering remotely for Democratic campaigns around the country. I've volunteered with many different campaigns and organizations, including March For Our Lives, Grassroots Democrats HQ, and Democratic coordinated campaigns in multiple states.Â
Since then, I've called more than 10,000 voters and knocked on more than 500 doors to help get out the vote. I've also participated in multiple virtual youth fellowships with Blue Future, an organization that helps young people develop leadership and organizing skills in progressive politics.
I joined the Emergency Campaign to Support Higher Education for a summer fellowship in 2026. The campaign's mission was to help universities push back against the Trump administration's attacks and to lower the cost of college education, with a particular focus on getting Congress to expand funding for the Pell Grant.
With the Emergency Campaign, I researched universities in swing districts, reported statistics about these schools, found more than 100,000 email addresses for students and faculty members, and proofread and copy-edited press releases and op-eds written by campaign organizers.
I also joined the rest of the Emergency Campaign team for a retreat in Boston, Massachusetts in May 2026, where I participated in group discussions and activities related to the campaign's mission.
"I found Leo to be honest, hardworking, thoughtful, and self-aware. He was particularly clear about both what he was confident in and where he did not feel he would be most successful. That level of self-awareness made it easy to work with him and allowed us to identify opportunities where his contributions could have the greatest impact."

Meeting Stacey Abrams at the 10 Steps Institute!
In August 2026, I attended the first-ever 10 Steps Institute in Decatur, Georgia, a weekend training retreat for young organizers hosted by two-time Georgia Democratic candidate for governor, Stacey Abrams. While there, I learned invaluable organizing skills, heard from inspiring and passionate speakers, and networked with the other Gen Z organizers and progressive leaders who attended and spoke at the event.
"Leo, you were truly one of the standout attendees at the inaugural 10 Steps Campaign Institute! I'm so glad you had an amazing experience. I can speak for the entire team when I say we appreciated the energy, perspective, and enthusiasm you brought to the weekend. Thank you for showing up and being part of something so special. We hope this isn't the end of our work together, but just the beginning. Can't wait to see what you do next!"
